Today we honor Black History Month with a poem about dreaming—dreaming of a society in which everyone, no matter their identity, can love, can be, can share, and can have what they need in peace and serenity.

May we each do our part to make it so.

I’m a Dreamer

by Kattie M. Combo

I dream of Serenity,
Peace,
Calmness.

Of loving,
being,
sharing,
having.

I’m a dreamer.

I dream of living,
helping,
receiving,
giving.

I’m a dreamer.

One who sleeps
away reality.
